The Oxnard Mounted Unit Foundation is a nonprofit organization committed to supporting the Oxnard Police Department Mounted Unit with the goal of connecting with our community and being role models to the children that they serve. The Oxnard Police Mounted Unit is a unique assignment within the Department because unlike any other unit, the officer is personally responsible for purchasing, boarding, feeding, training, and transporting their horse. This is a voluntary undertaking for each Mounted Unit Officer, a labor of love done to share their love of horses with the community.
The Oxnard Police Department Mounted Unit is an exclusive and integral part of our law enforcement efforts, providing a powerful combination of community engagement and effective policing. The officers and their equine partners serve as a visible presence in our community and play a crucial role in fostering positive relationships between law enforcement and the public.
