When most people think of police work, they picture flashing lights and patrol cars. But here in Oxnard, something much more unique is part of our law enforcement team — powerful, gentle horses who are an irreplaceable part of the Oxnard Police Mounted Unit. These horses don't just patrol events. They build bridges. They turn fear into fascination. They help officers connect with our community in a way no squad car ever could.

But what many don't realize is this: the mounted unit is almost entirely self-funded. Your donations cover everything from feed and farrier services to saddles, tack, and transportation. Even essential safety and training equipment must be purchased through donations.
