You may have seen them visiting schools, patrolling our beaches and parks, or making appearances at community events since 2021.  Many thanks to the officers who have brought this back to our department, and our community.  

The Oxnard Police Mounted Unit is a unique assignment within the Department because unlike any other unit, its officers provide their own horses, and incur the associated costs.  This effort is testimony to their spirit of volunteerism, community engagement, and desire to make a difference.  Their initiative and desire to restart our Mounted Unit is greatly appreciated.
